1. Getting Started

Create a New Cover Letter

1. Go to My Documents → Cover Letters tab
2. Click "+ New Cover Letter"
3. Name your cover letter (e.g., "Marketing Manager — Acme Corp")
4. Link a resume from your existing resumes
5. Click Create

Import an Existing Cover Letter

Upload a PDF or Word file and the AI extracts and structures the content into editable blocks (review the result after import).

Why Link a Resume?

The AI uses your resume data to generate content grounded in your resume. Relevant achievements and skills can be mapped to the job requirements, helping your cover letter and resume tell a consistent story.

3. Evidence Mode

What Is Evidence Mode?

A transparency feature that shows which resume bullets the AI linked to the body paragraphs of your cover letter, when available, so you can review them side by side.

How It Works

• AI-written body paragraphs can display a fingerprint badge with the number of linked resume bullets
• Click the badge to expand the Evidence Panel
• See which of your resume bullets the AI linked to that paragraph
• Compare the AI text with your own resume bullets as you review it

Why It Matters

• Trust — review the AI text next to your own resume bullets before you rely on it
• Accuracy — spotting mismatches is easier with the related bullets one click away
• Confidence — you decide what stays, with your own experience in view

4. Editing & Refinement

Hybrid Refinement

Click any paragraph to refine it using quick-adjustment chips:

• Make it more Concise
• Make it more Professional
• Make it more Specific
• Make it more Enthusiastic

See a side-by-side diff preview of the original vs. refined version before committing.

Manual Editing

Edit any block directly in the structured editor with rich text support. Changes are saved as you work.

Regenerate Sections

Regenerate any individual section without affecting the rest. Useful for iterating on specific paragraphs.

5. Template & Styling

Resume Matching

Your cover letter automatically inherits fonts and colors from your linked resume for consistent visual branding across both documents.

ATS-Friendly Output
