The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges is responsible for managing the full life cycle of over 800 bridges and tunnels and over 600 retaining walls, ensuring safety of the public and ensuring mobility for all users. Team members may work on major project designs, oversee construction, oversee maintenance activities, perform engineering reviews and quality assurance tasks on some of the most iconic and complex projects in the City.
The Administrative Engineer will be working as an Engineer in Charge, who will oversee Movable Bridges EM & PM, Specialized Maintenance, Electromechanical Maintenance, Corrective Repairs and its operations.
He/she will be in charge of implementing ongoing ERB/MB PM-EM FHWA program – its budget, claims etc. In addition to electromechanical Maintenance, supervising the Electrical and Mechanical operations, EIC will be directly supervising Engineers, trade crews & office staff. This individual will also be overseeing everyday functions in the field. Additional tasks like scheduling, MURK forms - daily reports, Engineer's diary, will also be performed.
Preferred Skills Ability to perform inspections in all weather conditions which will include nights and weekends.
Experienced on High and Low Bridges operations & their components maintenance for a minimum of 5 yrs. Valid Professional Engineering License in the state of New York is preferred.
