Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Information Technology Services, the Assistant Manager Information Services (CXP) will be embedded in the Customer Experience Application Development team, playing a key role in designing, developing, configuring, and deploying new and existing applications using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Relationship Management (CRM). The incumbent will be expected to provide technical guidance to existing team members using their expertise to build new and maintain existing applications with Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Power Platform, including integration with other internal applications. The incumbent will make Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform application technology decisions, supervise the implementation of these applications, and develop high-performing application development teammates under their supervision. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Technical Leadership:

  • Guide the Customer Experience Application Development team with application design, configuration, and implementation.
  • Lead the development and management efforts to build a Microsoft Dynamics knowledge base.
  • Formulate and implement Microsoft Dynamics applications standards, incorporating industry best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews for quality, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Lead technical QA and test automation engineering teams supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM enterprise solutions to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Stay up to date on the latest Microsoft Dynamics CRM technologies.

Configuration and Integration

  • Design and deploy advanced Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM solutions using Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure Integration Services, Azure API Management, Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Service Bus, Microsoft Graph, Git, DevOps, .NET, security architecture, custom workflows, and managed/unmanaged solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integrations with internal applications.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to establish continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automate deployment processes.
  • Suggest and implement a strategy for keeping Microsoft Dynamics environments (dev, test and production) synchronized.
  • Suggest and implement a strategy for keeping environments updated with latest updates from Microsoft.

Standard Software Development Lifecycle processes:

  • Engage in all phases of the system development lifecycle.
  • Analyze and gather requirements for current and future processes.
  • Design/create database structures including PL/SQL, tables, packages, procedures, and functions.
  • Design/create websites, REST APIs, and batch processes.
  • Integrate security measures into coding practices.
  • Aid in optimizing performance and addressing security vulnerabilities in applications.
  • Provide production support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) years of broad information technology (IT) experience*, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of software engineering, Microsoft Dynamics or Power Platform specialty, and its application within large-scale organizations, including:

o At least seven (7) years of focused experience customizing, configuring, and implementing Microsoft Dynamics CRM applications, including enterprise architecture design using Microsoft Dynamics Sales and Customer Service platforms, Azure integration patterns, security architecture, and application lifecycle management strategy, and

o Three (3) years of supervisory-level or two (2) years of managerial-level experience in Microsoft Dynamics, Power Platform, or related technical field.

*Substitutions: A degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field may substitute for the broad IT experience as outlined below:

  • A bachelor’s degree may substitute for three years of experience.
  • A master’s degree may substitute for an additional one year of experience.
  • A doctorate may substitute for an additional two years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant Microsoft Dynamics certification(s), including but not limited to:

o Dynamics 365 Customer Experience Analyst Associate

o Dynamics 365 Customer Service Functional Consultant

o Power Apps/Power Platform Developer Associate

o Power Platform Solution Architect Expert

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and developing teams of Microsoft .NET, Microsoft Dynamics, and Power Platform technology professionals.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and execution skills.
  • Experience in collaborating across multiple organizational levels and departments to drive consensus and deliver results.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with expertise in diagnosing complex issues with Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform applications, efficiently identifying root causes, and developing effective solutions.
  • Proven expertise in software engineering and DevOps principles, including knowledge of DevOps workflows and tools, such as Github and CI/CD pipeline.
