Civil Service Title- Assistant Civil Engineer * IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATE MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE, OR BE REACHABLE ON THE OPEN-COMPETITIVE LIST EXAM# 7006 Assistant Civil Engineer will work on bridge capital design and/or construction projects in the Roadway Bridges group. Perform work of moderate difficulty and responsibility. Supervise a small team engaged in activities related to design, construction oversight, inspection, materials testing, or drafting. Engage in research, investigations or studies related to engineering functions and activities. Develop drawings, write specifications and prepare estimates. Participate in inspections. Verify that all construction, demolition, or alteration plans comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Provide status and progress reports for assigned projects. Review invoices for Consultants and Contractors. Review and comment on technical submissions pertaining to the design effort.
Preferred Skills At least one to three years of Bridge-related experience. Proficient in Microsoft Work Location 55 WATER ST, MANHATTAN, 10041 Hours 8:00AM - 4:00PM/Monday
