The Business Officer 1(BO1) is responsible for assisting the Business Officer 2(BO2) in the overall management of the Cost & Fiscal Services Office. This BO1 will assist in the oversight of tasks related to the procurement including accounts payable, the purchasing, receiving, contract management. The BO1 will also have high level security access to bank account and credit account management sites. The BO1 will be responsible for direct supervision of the LIDDSO Fleet management supervisor. Thus, the officer will provide oversight of fleet management operations. The BO1 will assist in coordinating assignments for the office staff to complete tasks in the agency mailroom. The BO1 will assist in the completion of agency specific reports and/or audits by securing necessary information from the appropriate source. The BO1 will have access to the New York Statewide Financial System (SFS) to process approvals and run analytical reports. The BO1 will assist in overall Non-Personal Spending (NPS) budget management.
Performs, coordinates, and monitors facility business office activities; and assists in planning and administering support service operations.
May represent the business office at meetings to present fiscal information and concerns; participate on committees and workgroups; assist in the development of business office policies and procedures; and perform the full range of supervisory duties for administrative support staff.

Business Officer Trainee 1:
Four years of experience in the administration of a business office or program, including responsibility for one or more of the following areas: accounting, budgeting, contract administration, and purchasing.
Business Officer Trainee 2:
Five years of experience in the administration of a business office or program, including responsibility for one or more of the following areas: accounting, budgeting, contract administration, and purchasing.
Business Officer 1:
Six years of experience in the administration of a business office or program, including responsibility for one or more of the following areas: accounting, budgeting, contract administration, and purchasing.
Substitution:
An associate degree may substitute for two years of experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of experience; a master’s degree may substitute for five years of experience; and a doctorate may substitute for six years of experience.
Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.
