The New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Education Policy is seeking candidates for two Child Care Aide 1 Substitute positions in the New York State School for the Blind.
The incumbent of this position will be responsible for maintaining the safety and well-being of students, escorting students to and from activities, attending to students’ personal hygiene needs, assisting in the development of appropriate daily living skills, and providing supervision and assistance as necessary. Under the supervision of a Child Care Aide 2, duties include, but are not limited to:
Candidates must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with students and staff, follow written and spoken instructions, and relate to the students being supervised.
Candidates must be in good health, good physical condition, and able to perform moderate to heavy lifting of children and participate in physical activities such as swimming.
Preference may be given to candidates who have:
Reassignment: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Child Care Aide
