The Division of Sidewalk & Inspection Management’s Citywide Concrete Unit supports the agency’s goal to enhance, rehabilitate, and maintain the City’s infrastructure by acting as the agency’s primary construction unit. We employ dedicated engineers, managers, support staff, laborers and adopt cost-savings and efficiency, while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and service to safety and quality.
Under direct supervision of a Principal Administrative Associate, the selected candidate will perform general administrative duties as follows: filing, preparing the daily schedule, requesting pours, excavation, safety, saw cutting and asphalt; handling 311 complaints; using the COM database, preparing crew schedules, gang sheets and pre location; collect copies of trip and gang sheets from the field staff and scan them daily; prepare post reports for excavation and the Prep crew (asphalt and saw cut). On a weekly basis, the selected candidates will handle Citytime, inventory, update the number of corners completed, verify that gang sheets are signed (both the physical copy and in the database); submit concrete pour receipts to Fiscal and collect the asphalt tickets. On a monthly basis, required to submit asphalt tickets for verification, preparing absence control, CHIPs and cleaning timesheets. On a quarterly basis the candidates will be required to complete CHIPs data entry and IFA concrete data entry. Annually, the administrative staff is required to assist with evaluations and mandatory training. Data entry related to emergency events such as snow removal or coastal storms will also be required as needed.
Qualification Requirements
Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience work in a field location setting and intermediate to advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
