The Bureau of Public Health Clinics (BPHC) mission is to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. To achieve its mission, the BPHC provides direct clinic services to people seeking health care; monitors disease trends; provides education and training to service providers and community groups; conducts research; and develops policies and programs to deliver high quality clinical care which best serve New Yorkers. BPHC is requesting to hire a City Research Scientist I (Data Analyst). This position will work closely with the Director of Implementation and Evaluation.
-Analyze data from BPHC medical records through a public health lens to inform decision making related to program planning and service delivery. -Prepare routine data reports for case management purposes and to track quality care metrics, clinic utilization, and other performance indicators. -Operationalize data requests and prepare ad hoc reports and slide decks, which effectively communicate data findings through tables and visualizations. -Produce standardized annotation, technical notes, data dictionaries and/or other documentation as appropriate for analytic programs, datasets, and reports. -Contribute to program evaluation projects which address questions relevant to advancing clinical service delivery across public health clinic systems. -Assure data reporting, communication, and program evaluation projects are being implemented with a racial equity and social justice lens.
-Knowledge and experience with R and/or SAS programming is required. -Experience working with relational databases; experience with SQL is preferred, but not required. -Experience with data manipulation, data analysis, and production of data tables/reports. -Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills. -Ability to maintain multiple diverse assignments simultaneously and function effectively, independently and collaboratively.
