NYSCA is seeking a Deputy Director of Operations (DDO) to oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the agency and its grantmaking workflows. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and results-driven leader to help shape operational strategy, drive innovation, and improve service delivery within a fast-paced and mission-focused agency.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the DDO serves as a key member of the NYSCA Executive Staff and as the agency’s critical liaison to the New York State Division of the Budget, the Office of General Services Personnel, Finance and Business Services Centers, and the Office of the State Comptroller.
The DDO oversees both NYSCA’s internal operating budget and the financial workflows supporting NYSCA’s grantmaking. On the operating budget side, the DDO manages annual budget submissions to the New York State Division of the Budget, vendor contracts, and expense tracking; implements effective budget modeling across all agency divisions; and regularly reports on the agency spending plan to executive leadership in support of informed decisions. On the grantmaking side, the DDO ensures on-time contracts and payments. The DDO also develops systems and processes to ensure effective customer service, including high-touch technical assistance such as webinars and office hours for prospective applicants and grantees as they navigate the prequalification, contracting, and reporting processes.

Minimum Qualifications Required for Appointment:
A bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience*
*Relevant experience is professional experience supporting operations in a complex organization, of which at least 6 years must be progressively responsible management experience. Management experience must include supervision of professional staff, oversight of multiple processes, internal and external communications, and strategic planning.
*Substitutions: four years of specialized experience or an associate’s degree and two years of specialized experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree; J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience; Ph.D. may substitute for two years of specialized experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES.
