The Department of Design and Construction seeks a Director to be part of the team of experienced professionals responsible for leading Alternative Delivery and advancing the Design-Build program. The portfolio includes priority new buildings and renovation projects for a diverse array of Sponsor Agencies.
Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner in Alternative Delivery, the Director will oversee complex new building and renovation projects of varying scales within the Design-Build portfolio. The selected candidate will direct all project phases from initiation through completion to ensure successful implementation of Design-Build best practices and design and construction excellence.

At least six years of full-time satisfactory experience in construction management work on capital projects, each one of which must have had a dollar value of at least $300,000, at least eighteen months of which must have been in a managerial or consultative capacity in an organization responsible for the management of construction; and a combination of the following, sufficient to equal a total of ten years of education and experience:
License Requirements Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York. Employees must maintain the license during their employment.
Candidates should have at least ten years of experience managing complex design and construction projects, including schedule, risk, and cost management experience. Candidates should possess excellent leadership, management, and organizational skills. Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate ability to work in a team setting. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to balance multiple priorities and perform tasks across multiple projects at various stages of development and implementation. Proficiency in MS Office is preferred, and familiarity with Bluebeam is preferred.
New York City Residency is not required for this position.
