NYCHA’s Elevator Services & Repair Department’s Elevator Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of elevator devices throughout the five boroughs. Selected candidate will undergo training of various controllers, troubleshooting and understanding faults and safety procedures. Candidate will also be required to pass a final exam, must physically be able to climb (minimum) a five-story building or more, and carry at least 25 lbs. of tools and equipment.
Elevator Mechanic will be reporting to Supervisor of Elevator Mechanic, (under close supervision with some latitude for independent judgment and initiative.) Duties include but are not limited to:
