The Executive Deputy Commissioner (EDC) for Programs oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of agency programs and services across SBS program divisions: Division of Business Services (DBS), Division of Economic and Financial Opportunity (DEFO), Neighborhood Development Division (NDD) and Citywide Workforce Opportunity (CWO).
The Executive Deputy Commissioner will report directly to the Commissioner and work closely with SBS’s senior leadership team, including the First Deputy Commissioner and Chief of Staff, on all matters related to agency strategy and programs.

Appropriate graduate study in an accredited college or university may be substituted for the general experience on a year-for-year basis. All candidates must have a four-year high school diploma or its equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization.

However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
