The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person.

As a Human Resources Associate for Workforce Operations, the selected candidate will receive training and assist in the performance of the duties specified below:

All employees must obtain any licenses, certifications, or endorsements that are required for their position by any regulatory agency of appropriate jurisdiction. Any required licenses, certifications, or endorsements must be maintained for the duration of the assignment and must be updated or renewed whenever the regulatory agency issues a modification or revision to the requirement.
Skills Requirement Ability to type at a minimum rate of 55 words per minute. For assignments requiring stenographic skills, candidates must also have the ability to take legal dictation. For certain assignments, individuals may be required to have higher typing and stenographic skills.
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
