This position is within the ITS Workstation Services group and is responsible for supporting Microsoft 365, collaboration platforms, mobile device management, and end-user computing services. The incumbent provides technical support for daily operations, executive and Board-level meetings, and the resolution of complex IT issues to ensure reliable and continuous service delivery. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide operational support for Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and related cloud technologies.
- Administer and support enterprise mobile device management (MDM) solutions for corporate-owned and personally owned devices.
- Deliver Tier 2/3 technical support for end-user hardware, software, mobile devices, and collaboration platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 applications, identity management, authentication, and device connectivity.
- Monitor service health, system performance, and user-reported incidents to ensure timely resolution and minimal disruption.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support for executive leadership and Board of Commissioners (BOC) meetings, presentations, and special events.
- Coordinate and maintain audio/visual, conferencing, and collaboration technologies required for meetings and organizational events.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to implement, support, and enhance enterprise technology solutions.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 governance, licensing, policy enforcement, and compliance initiatives.
- Participate in system upgrades, deployments, testing, and technology refresh projects.
- Provide backup coverage for critical operational functions to ensure continuity of service and reduce single-point-of-failure risks.
- Participate in after-hours support, incident response, and scheduled maintenance activities as required.
- Occasional evenings and/or weekends required.*
Minimum Qualifications
For appointment via NY HELPS:
- A bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science; OR
- A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology; OR
- 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology; OR
- Two years of professional experience in information technology; OR
- One year of permanent, competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 1 at NYSIF.

- List appointment: Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title.
- Transfer: Current New York State employee with one year of permanent competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 or Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law. Appointments via transfer must not result in a second, consecutive transfer with an advancement of more than two S-grades. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to: Administrative Specialist 1; Contract Management Specialist 2; Human Resources Specialist 1
- Reinstatement: Candidates who have previously held the Information Technology Specialist 2 title, or a transferable title, may be eligible for consideration for reinstatement.
