Open to candidates who are permanent The Bureau of Human Resources and Labor Relations, Hiring Unit Is seeking a detailed, customer service orientated individual with exceptional written and verbal communication skills to function as their Leaves Coordinator.
-Leave of Absence Coordinator will oversee all aspects of leaves within the agency including Family Medical Leave Act (FLMA), Paid Parental Leave (PPL). Paid Family Leave (PFL) and etc.
-Calculate all leaves to determine eligibility, leave type, commencement of leave and leave balances -Prepare letters for Director's review/signature for al approved leave -Provide employees' guidance on all forms of leave of absences including and answering questions via phone, e-mail and in person.
-Coordinate and work with a third party insurance carrier for City of NY Paid Family Leave (PFL) request with a timely notification schedule. Update computerize leave reports.
-Assist with follow-up on all expired leave of absence within the Designated Human Resources Liaisons (DHRL) and leave liaisons within the Agency.
-Assist with other tasks related to Leave of Absence data preparation and data analysis based on Program's needs -Assist with work assignments within the Leaves and Benefits which include but is not limited to Workers Compensation, Verification, Benefits and etc.

Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
