Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be involved in the treatment of residents.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be involved in the treatment of residents. They will administer certain medications; observe residents and report changes in their condition; take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; and obtain specimens for analysis. They will prepare and apply simple dressings; bathe and feed resident; and care for residents and their quarters by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving residents, and caring for their personal effects.
Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at St. Albans employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service in a position allocated to Grade 8 or above, and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law to Licensed Practical Nurse
A license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; OR a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; OR an application on file for a limited permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with long-term care Facility experience.
