The incumbent of this position is intended to serve as the ATC Medical Director and will function as part of a multidisciplinary team with responsibilities to include a broad range of medical, and some managerial, duties to be carried out in coordination and consultation with the various disciplines within the ATC.

To qualify as post-residency specialty addiction treatment experience, physicians must have worked a minimum of 20 hours per week providing direct patient care in specialty addiction treatment setting(s) for at least 3 continuous years.
NOTE: The ATC uses a computerized patient record system.
Medical Specialist 2: Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in a medical specialty by a Member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).*
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in an NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
NOTE: Candidates must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Failure to maintain licensure, certification and Medicaid/Medicare eligibility will result in the termination of employment.
