Job description

The Phlebotomist’s role in collecting blood samples from residents involves both technical skill and patient-centered care, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with laboratory standards. The Phlebotomist must confirm the resident's identity, respond to any questions, explain the procedure, and adress concerns before drawing the sample. The incumbent will collect blood samples from residents through venipuncture and capillary puncture and ensure proper handling of samples during transfer to laboratories. The employee will help train new staff on the sanitizing and maintaining of phlebotomy accessories. They will maintain proper inventory of supplies and materials needed for the daily collection of blood and urine samples.

Minimum Qualifications

Non-competitive: High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of experience as a Phlebotomist or a certificate in Phlebotomy from a recognized college, school, training program, hospital, health care facility, or the Armed Services.
