Hours: Full-time – 35 Hours Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101 The Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, Architecture and Engineering Unit seeks to hire a Senior Design Reviewer. Reporting to and under the supervision of the Executive Director and Deputy Directors of Architecture, the selected candidate shall participate in project scope development, existing conditions and forensic analysis, the review of design and construction documents prepared by consultants, as well as creation of design documents and construction administration for in-house design projects. The selected candidate must be thoroughly knowledgeable in Architecture principles and practices including, city and state guidelines and requirements, as well as general design principles, industry best practices, building codes, project delivery methodologies, and the latest technologies and innovations in the field. The selected candidate will interface with clients, consultants, contractors, project managers, and other technical staff.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in new construction and renovation work in the public sector, or in institutional and commercial projects. Previous experience should include scoping, as well as preparing and reviewing design and construction documents and administering projects in construction. Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles is a plus. Good verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of NYC Building code and computer-aided drafting are essential. Good interpersonal skills in dealing with clients, consultants, contractors, team members and managers are required. AutoCad experience required, Bluebeam Revu and Revit preferred, LEED accreditation preferred.
New York City Residency is not required for this position.
