Job description

Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal seeks a Special Assistant to be part of a collaborative and energetic team.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Borough President, Deputy Borough President, and Chief of Staff in managing day-to-day office operations and priorities.
  • Support the Executive Team with scheduling, logistics, travel, and other administrative needs to ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently.
  • Work closely with MBPO staff to coordinate and execute office-wide priorities and initiatives.
  • Prepare briefing materials and other written materials; conduct background research; coordinate meetings and events; and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and execute special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. About You:
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented
  • You can manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are a problem-solver who takes initiative and exercises good judgment.
  • You have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • You are collaborative, dependable, and comfortable working across teams and with a wide range of stakeholders.

There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
