The mission of the Sidewalk Program is to support the agency’s goal by providing for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of people by making sidewalks safe and accessible for all pedestrians.
The candidate selected for this position will perform the following duties: perform mark-outs with the Department of Design and Construction (DDC), consultant, and contractor for pedestrian ramp construction; work closely with consultant engineers and inspectors to resolve daily issues related to sidewalk and pedestrian ramp construction. Attend progress meetings to evaluate and report on the status of the contracts; address issues that are outstanding and need to be resolved with DDC; inform DDC about the Department of Transportation's (DOT) priorities for the construction of sidewalk and pedestrian ramps; prepare reports for the Executive Director and the Chief Engineer regarding contracts; participate in construction site meetings; perform related work as assigned.
Knowledge or experience with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Rules and Regulations is preferred.
New York City Residency is not required for this position
