All Hourly positions with the NYS Office of Addiction Services & Supports (OASAS) are utilized on an “as needed” basis, and as such there is no guarantee of work hours or a set schedule. Any/all questions should be directed to recruitment@oasas.ny.gov
Under the supervision of a higher-level professional trade individual or the Assistant Director Addiction Treatment Center, the incumbent will function as a journey-level skilled maintenance worker and perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled activities in response to maintenance program requirements in adherence with all Federal, State, and CARF (Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities) regulations and requirements.
The incumbent is expected to work with considerable independence as is typical of a craftsperson.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
o Coordination and supervision of outside contractors performing maintenance and repairs.
Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled trades-person which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
Preferred Qualifications: Skilled in one or more trades; Demonstrates computer literacy; Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions; Valid NYS driver’s license
New York State agencies, departments, and public authorities provide services across healthcare, engineering, administration, public safety, the trades, and other areas.
