All client appointments and work-related activity should be accounted for on the “outlook” calendar. Access shall be given to your direct supervisor.
Any activity related to a client shall be promptly entered.
Provisional Pending Examination (Promotional) Qualifications:
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive, 55b/c or NY HELPS service as a Veterans Benefits Advisor

52.7 Non-Competitive Promotion (NCP):
If there are no more than three qualified candidates in the promotion field for this position, the agency will request approval from the Department of Civil Service to fill this position via a noncompetitive promotion (NCP) examination, pursuant to Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law. In order to be eligible for the NCP, candidates must be in the direct promotion field, be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services, have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Veterans Benefits Advisor 1 or Veterans Benefits Advisor 1 (Spanish Language) and must not have failed the last two holdings of the promotion examination for the title listed above.
