Hours: Full-Time Position – 35 Hours Work Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101 The NYC Department of Design and Construction seeks a Senior Project Manager to support complex capital projects, including those with environmental and fire protection engineering components. Under general supervision, the selected candidate will manage the full cost lifecycle of projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate projects with various Sponsor Agencies and stakeholders to define project scope and delivery strategies, including the development of project budgets, cost baselines, and procurement approaches. Responsibilities include managing consultants and contractors, and reviewing design submissions, cost estimates, schedules, change orders, and payment requisitions.
The selected candidate will implement cost control procedures to monitor budgets, commitments, and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle. The candidate will perform detailed bid analysis, including evaluation of bid variances, scope gaps, and risk assumptions, and provide recommendations to support contract awards. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for cost forecasting, contingency management, and tracking cost and schedule performance using project controls methodologies. The role includes overseeing the preparation and review of engineering designs, technical specifications, and construction documents, and ensuring compliance with applicable contracts, codes, and regulatory requirements. The candidate will coordinate field inspections, testing, and construction activities to ensure quality assurance and regulatory compliance. In addition, the selected candidate will prepare reports, track performance metrics, manage project risks, coordinate with stakeholders, and supervise staff, conduct site visits, and review or approve technical documents.
